Handicrafts and Agritourism Fair – General presentation
Within the project there were organized two Handicrafts and Agritourism Fairs one for each region: one in the South West Oltenia Region, Romania and one in the North West Region Bulgaria.
The time difference between the two of them was of about 5-6 moths between the 2 events in order to have the perfect weather conditions. One of them will be organized in autumn and the other one in spring. Each of the events was organized on a time period of 4 days (3 nights):
- Day 1 –bringing and the reception of the participants and the set up of the racks, organizational problems.
- Day 2 – official opening of the fair, visitation schedule, business meetings and the official dinning.
- Day 3- visitation schedule.
- Day 4- official closing of the fair, packing the racks, and taking the participants back home.
The dates and the places of these fairs were displayed after the beginning of the project after an agreement between the Bulgarians and Romanians partners.
A minimum number of 60 participants was expected for the fair (30 exponents for each event) Furthermore, for the Romanian fair there were minimum 10 firms from Bulgaria and in Bulgaria there were 10 firms from Romania. The products realized by the craftsmen who participated in both fairs include a wide range of ceramics, wood sculptures, pictures and icons made on glass or wood, handmade popular objects and clothes and other products from the popular art from the two regions.
